Meet Our 2016 Guard Student Leadership Team

The Battalion’s first ever guard student leadership team was selected at the corps' April camp, and we couldn't be more excited to introduce you to them. Get to know a little bit more about them below!

Haley Sindt (Guard Manager)

Haley is entering her sixth year of guard, having served as a captain for two of those years. She has also served as an instructor, having taught at Westlake High School for one year, as well as Timpview High School where she lead their first winter guard to a state championship. She also just started working with Herriman High School. Haley is currently attending Utah Valley University studying Psychology.

Personal statement: “Guard has made me into the person that I am today, and I am so thankful for all of the experiences I have had. It is truly a blessing to have the opportunity of participating in The Battalion, where we can do what we love while upholding our standards. I know that we, as a team, will promote an environment of support and success.”

Alex Brereton (Flag Captain)

Alex Brereton just graduated from Lehi High School, where her marching band and guard won the 4A state championship title last fall. She was a color guard captain for the Lehi Varsity Winter Guard, which recently won first place at state. They were also WGI finalists at the Riverside Regional in California in February. This marks her sixth year spinning, where she has spent most of her color guard career at Lehi High School. Alex plans on going to Utah Valley University in the fall, and is so excited to be a part of the first ever Drum & Bugle Corps from Utah.

Personal statement: "I see so much potential in this group and this program. More than anything I hope everyone will come together as a family and as a corps to bond over this crazy, beautiful thing we are all so privileged to be a part of."
