Chris Nelson
BOARD CHAIR
Dr. Christopher M. Nelson is Associate Professor of Music and Director of Bands at Snow College in Ephraim, Utah, where he also serves as the head of the Brass and Percussion Area and teaches classes in conducting and music education. He holds degrees from Brigham Young University, Washington State University, and Indiana University, where he earned a Doctorate in Wind Band Conducting with a Music Education minor. Chris has over a decade of experience as a high school and college music educator, having held teaching positions in Utah, Oregon, and Indiana. He is also a regularly commissioned composer and arranger, with works published by C-Alan Publications. Chris enjoys being active in Utah’s thriving community music programs by performing with the Utah Premiere Brass, and by serving as a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Battalion Drum and Bugle Corps.
