SAMUEL SCHIESS - BRASS COORDINATOR

Samuel Schiess is a native of American Fork, Utah. Playing in numerous ensembles throughout his lifetime, he has learned from many stellar educators, including John Miller of American Fork High School, Dr. Kirt Saville of Brigham Young University, Scott Hagen of the University of Utah, and Matt Harloff of Carolina Crown. Currently studying music education at the University of Utah, he also studies the tuba with Gary Offenloch of the Utah Symphony. He is grateful for these teachers both as inspiration for his own teaching career, as well as models to base his own teaching on.

Samuel is a recipient of the John Phillip Sousa award at American Fork High School 2014. He is also a recipient of the Jim Ott memorial award for best brass along with Carolina Crown 2017. Samuel joined the Battalion Brass team in 2018 and enjoys both developing his student’s abilities, as well learning and growing as a music educator himself.
