Kylie Howard began her marching arts experience at Westlake High School in Saratoga Springs, Utah, where she was a drum major for three years, leading the band to consecutive class 4A state championships in 2012 and 2013. Following her graduation from high school Kylie attended the University of Utah where she graduated with a degree in music performance in 2018. While attending school she performed with the Utah Drumline, Philharmonic, Wind Ensemble, the Double or Nothing quintet, and was a drum major for the Marching Utes for the 2015, 2016, and 2017 seasons. Kylie was also a founding member of The Battalion Drum & Bugle Corps, serving as head drum major in 2016 and 2017. After aging out she worked as an intern with Drum Corps International during the 2018 season managing the middle school program INpact Band that performed at the 2017 DCI Finals.


Kylie is the Director of Operations for an online events calendar with things to do and see in the state of Utah. She loves working with arts organizations and professionals to showcase the high-quality entertainment industry Utah has to offer. Kylie is also a freelance bassoonist. You can catch her playing with the Orchestra on Temple Square, Salt Lake Symphony, and Utah Wind Symphony. Kylie is a newly converted runner and completed her first two half-marathons in 2019. She hopes to finish a full marathon before she turns 26. Kylie is dedicated to helping students develop into strong musicians and leaders at The Battalion.
