JULIA COLEMAN - BOARD CHAIR

Julia joined The Battalion in 2020 as a member of the Board of Directors.  Originally from Erie, Pennsylvania, she was classically trained in piano from a very young age and has been involved in the marching arts since 1998.  Julia relocated to the beautiful state of Utah in 2009.  In addition to working full time as a Registered Nurse in Salt Lake City, she serves as Secretary on the Board of Directors for Performing Arts Weber, as well as an Assistant Director for Gold Spike Percussion.

Julia graduated from Fairview (PA) High School, where she developed a love for marching band, euphonium, and drum corps.  She has performed with several marching groups across the country including Phantom Regiment (2006 - 2007) of Rockford, Illinois, The Empire Statesmen (2004 - 2006, 2009) and Rochester Crusaders (2002 - 2003) of Rochester, New York, White Sabers (2008) of Dansville, New York, and Presque Isle Percussion (2007 - 2008) of Erie, Pennsylvania.

Julia graduated with an Associates Degree in Nursing from Penn State University in 2009.  She credits the discipline and strong work ethic learned through her time in drum corps, both on and off the field, for her successful career.  Julia currently resides in Clinton, UT with her husband, Ed, and their dogs, Murphy and Mabel.

Julia is passionate about giving back to the marching arts community and couldn’t be more excited to serve as a board member!
