DYLAN CAMACHO - SOUND DESIGN SPECIALIST

 

Since the age of 9, Dylan has been studying, performing, and exploring as many corners of the world of music as possible. He has formal training in playing guitar and bass guitar, as well as piano and a bit of percussion in styles and genres such as jazz, blues, rock, metal, pop, latin, modern film score, and classical. 

 

Dylan studied at University of Colorado Denver and received his Bachelor of Science in Music with a Recording Arts Emphasis. With this education, he has been working professionally in live sound and general event production including mixing sound for front of house and monitors, as well as stage managing and lighting for Denver-area music venues and production companies. He has worked with the internationally acclaimed vocal ensemble, MIX, as the lead sound engineer in Denver as well as on a number of tours.

 

Dylan has been involved with indoor percussion beginning in 2008 while at Golden High School. During his 2010 senior year playing marimba, Golden's Concert Open Class ensemble traveled to Dayton, Ohio for the WGI National Championships where they won the gold medal in their class. In 2009, he joined the Blue Knights Percussion Ensemble to play guitar, eventually switching to bass guitar and becoming the front ensemble section leader through 2014 before aging out. Additionally, Dylan has been on staff with Rise Percussion Ensemble since 2014 helping in various forms including Front Ensemble Composer/Arranger, Sound Designer, Rhythm Section Instructor, Show Design Team, Audio Consultant, and Sound Engineer. 

 

In his personal life, Dylan works full time as the Lead Designer and Signage Specialist for a sign shop specializing in architectural signs. He currently is in a Denver electronic-pop band called Chemistry Club who has shared the stage with numerous national artists such as Panic! at the Disco, Neon Trees, and SomeKindaWonderful. They have been awarded as Denver's best Dance Pop Band by Westword two years in a row. He enjoys trail running, mountain biking, cycling, and camping. Finally, he and his wife, Cate Bailey, are proud parents of an English Bulldog named Simon, and a Wyoming Mountain Dog named Kenai.
