Webb Sheely
PERCUSSION CAPTION HEAD

Webb Sheely is a percussion performer, educator and arranger/composer from Columbia, Missouri. Webb is currently the Director of the Indiana University Marching Hundred Drumline, is an Associate Instructor with the IU Percussion Studio and was a part-time Professor of Music at DePauw University. At Indiana University, he is currently studying to get his Doctorate in Percussion Performance and Literature. He holds a Master’s in Percussion Performance from IU and a Bachelor’s in Music Education from the University of North Texas. Webb has studied with Paul Rennick, Sandi Rennick, Mark Ford, Christopher Deane, Stockton Helbing, Joseph Gramley, Kevin Bobo, John Tafoya and Andy Miller.
As Director of the Indiana University Marching Hundred Drumline, he has taken the group to several local high schools and the Percussive Arts Society International Convention to perform and compete at PASIC I&E the past two years, earning third place in 2024. The drumline also performed at the College Football Playoffs in the 2024 season. As a student at Indiana University, Webb was invited to play Viet Cuong’s “Re(new)al” with the Wind Ensemble as one of four percussion soloists on November 15th, 2022. Webb also performed with the Indiana University Percussion Ensemble at their PASIC IPEC performance in 2023.
As a student at North Texas, he took first place in the Collegiate Concert Snare Drum Solo and Collegiate Marching Tenor Drum Solo Categories of “Marching Fest” at PASIC in 2019. While Webb was the section leader of the North Texas Quad Ensemble, they took first place at PASIC in 2019, first place in the 2021 Drum Corps International I and E competition, were one of the finalists for the Winter Guard International Small Ensemble Competition in Spring 2021, and second place at the PASIC “Marching Fest” Competition at PASIC in 2021. Finally, Webb was a guest artist on many concerts at North Texas, including playing at TMEA with the A Capella Choir and with the Percussion Ensemble at TEDx North Texas.
Webb performed with the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps in 2018 and 2019. Webb also performed at the Performer’s Showcase in 2019, earning fourth place. Webb returned to the Troopers as a member of the percussion staff and has been on the team since 2021.
Webb is a Professional Member of the Percussive Arts Society (PAS) and the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) and currently serves on the Marching Committee with PAS. Webb holds professional endorsements with Sabian Cymbals and Innovative Percussion
