Meet the 2018 Educational Staff

Building on the success of our 2017 season, The Battalion is pleased to announce the return of our education staff leadership team for the 2018 season:

• John A. Matthews II – Assistant Brass Caption Head 

• Shilo Stroman – Artistic Director, Front Ensemble Caption Head

• Alex Entin – Battery Caption Head

• Mariann Liddiard – Color Guard Caption Head

• Josh Jensen – Visual Caption Head

"We have some great additions to an already very strong team," said Luke McCollum, CEO of The Battalion. "We're thrilled with the continuity we have in our education team. Doubling our tour in 2018 is creating an opportunity to grow our team of incredible educators. We're adding some deep experience and building great bench strength. Most importantly, everyone is bought-in to our vision and mission."

The 2018 educational staff sees the return of many familiar faces from the 2017 season while adding new staff members to help round out the team that will guide the corps through an expanded tour.

"Our vision for the corps is to provide a safe, professional environment where students can perfect their skills while learning from some of the best in the business," said program director Mark Hartman. "The caliber of instructors that we're bringing on board will help us take the corps to the next level while allowing us to begin adapting to the challenges of a longer tour in preparation for our eventual trips to Indianapolis and the DCI World Championship events."
