BTE Makes Debut at Stryker Conference

Battalion Entertainment (BTE) - a new performing group under The Battalion Drum & Bugle Corps umbrella - made its debut this morning at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City. The entertainment ensemble kicked off the opening ceremony for the Stryker 2017 Global Sales Meetings that run today through the end of the week.

“It was a blast performing for the Stryker team today," said BTE performer Andrew Ripley. "I’m sure seeing a drumline burst into a packed conference room at 7:30 am was the last thing they were expecting. The crowd reaction was priceless. It was exactly what the event group was hoping for. ”

To reinforce the theme of the conference - "Strength in Numbers" - the Battalion Entertainment performers treated the diverse audience from around the world to a variety of interactive percussion numbers that included traditional battery instruments, a stick and barstool show, and a trash can romp that required crowd participation.

The Battalion Executive Director Dallin Hatch says the debut of BTE opens the door for more performance opportunities for local students.

"This exciting new ensemble is a high-energy, entertainment powerhouse that provides the perfect solution to amp up any event," said Hatch. "We're excited to provide this new entertainment service, while giving local students access to a variety of performance venues and audiences that weren't available to them previously."
