KYLIE HOWARD - ENSEMBLE SPECIALIST
Kylie Howard began her marching arts experience at Westlake High School in Saratoga Springs, Utah, where she was a drum major for three years, leading the band to consecutive class 4A state championships in 2012 and 2013. Following her graduation from high school Kylie attended the University of Utah where she graduated with a degree in music performance in 2018. While attending school she performed with the Utah Drumline, Philharmonic, Wind Ensemble, and Double or Nothing quintet, and was a drum major for the Marching Utes for the 2015, 2016, and 2017 seasons. Kylie was also a founding member of The Battalion Drum & Bugle Corps, serving as head drum major in 2016 and 2017. After aging out she worked as an intern with Drum Corps International during the 2018 season.
Kylie currently works as an administrator for Salty Cricket Composers Collective’s El-Sistema program where she strives to bring high-level music education to K-8 students. Kylie is also a freelance bassoonist, serves on the board for the Utah Double Reed Society, and works for Sinfonia Salt Lake. Additionally, she advocates on behalf of Utah’s arts and humanities with the Utah Cultural Alliance. Kylie is excited to join The Battalion education team and help students develop into strong musicians and leaders.
