TAYLOR HUTCHINS - VISUAL INSTRUCTOR

Taylor Hutchins lives in Castle Rock, CO and currently is in his 4th year as the Orchestra Director for both ThunderRidge High School and Ranch View Middle School. In addition to his own programs, Taylor is in his 8th year as the Visual Caption Head for Air Academy High School, and has spent 5 years as an instructor at Douglas County High School. Outside of music, his passions include baseball (Rockies and Royals), snowboarding, and enjoying the beautiful Colorado weather.

 

Taylor graduated from Colorado State University in 2010, with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education. He studied with Steven Moore, Greg Harper, Wes Kenney, and Steve McNeal. As a CSU Ram, Taylor performed with the marching band, wind ensemble, jazz band, and the Symphony Orchestra as a trombonist.

 

Taylor was a member of the Cavaliers baritone section from 2006 through 2008. In 2006 the Cavaliers were DCI World Champions (Brass/Visual/GE Trophies), and finished third in the years following. Taylor is incredibly proud to have marched with the Cavaliers, and will treasure his friendships and experiences forever.

 

As a new staff member, Taylor is very excited to work with the members of the Battalion and hopes to help young students find their own passion for Drum Corps, music, and the marching arts
