THE BATTALION EDUCATION STAFF
REID SCHOLZ- GUARD INSTRUCTOR
Reid Scholz comes to the Battalion color guard staff with a love and passion for the pageantry
arts. He has had several opportunities to work with many up-and- coming color guard programs
in Virginia and Utah. After graduating from Briar Woods High School in Ashburn, VA in 2013,
Reid moved to Logan, Utah to attend Utah State University to pursue a Bachelors of Arts degree
in Music, with plans to obtain a masters in Arts Administration. While at Utah State, Reid has
had the opportunity to be the color guard captain for the Utah State Aggie Marching Band for the
2014 and 2017 seasons, while also working as the choreographer for the 2017 season. He was a
founding cast member of the 2014 USU winter guard. He was also a cast member of the 2018
Wasatch Independent Open Winter Guard and had the opportunity to perform in Dayton, Ohio at
WGI world championships.
Reid has also taught at South Lakes High School in Reston, VA where the winter guard received
a bronze medal in their class and earned a promotion for the 2018 season. Reid has also worked
at Briar Woods High School (VA), and Mountain Crest High School (UT).
Aside from color guard, Reid loves to dance, eat, and talk about his 2-year LDS mission to
Phoenix, Arizona.
