Overview
BEX Clinics give students an opportunity to experience drum corps first hand and learn what they need to work on to prepare for the audition process, whether you plan on auditioning for the upcoming season or in the future. You will meet and learn from our world-class staff and receive feedback to help you grow as a performer. You will also learn what is expected of a member of The Battalion. BEX Auditions take that experience one step further, as students begin the process of earning a spot as a member of The Battalion for the 2024 season.

Clinics will be held on Fridays from 6:00 - 10:00 pm and Saturdays from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm (unless otherwise noted), we will feed you lunch and dinner on Saturday. Instructional blocks will include music and visual rehearsals, sectionals, and full ensemble. Students will work on the packet for their section as well as an ensemble to perform together. Once you reserve your spot by registering and paying for the event, you will receive your music packet and a link to join our 2024 Slack channel, which will allow you to get to know other students and stay in touch with staff during these events.

What can I expect from a BEX event?
We welcome all skill levels to come and learn at our clinics and auditions. Attending a BEX event is a great way to experience drum corps and gain insight into what this activity is all about. Our incredible staff will help you through it.

There will be plenty of students who are nervous about being a part of something where the performance expectations are high. Everyone has to start somewhere and sometime. This is a learning experience and we want you all to have a great time experiencing the magic of drum corps first hand.
​
During the one on one instruction, each student will receive feedback from one of our staff members with meaningful suggestions for improvement. Everyone will leave with something they need to work on to prepare them for the next event.

Can I audition for the 2024 corps?
Yes, we have open spots in all sections! Auditioning will allow our staff to see what you can do and allow them to give you feedback as we build out the corps for the summer. Our BEX events will serve as a training ground for the 2024 season. Participating in these events will allow you to work with our staff and learn what will be expected during the audition process. The audition is where students will be able to demonstrate what you have been working on throughout the clinics. Everyone is invited to participate in these events regardless of if you plan to audition for the corps.

Can I submit a video audition?
Yes, please fill out the form below and purchase the "2024 Video Audition" option when checking out. After we receive your form submission and payment we will email you the audition materials. Video auditions are being accepted and will be reviewed by the staff during each of our in person weekend events. To be considered for a position in the drum corps, please be sure we have your video audition by January 12, 2024.

What can I expect from the 2024 summer?
The Battalion will be touring nationally and will participate in World Championships in Indianapolis, IN! Students should hold June 9, 2024 - August 11, 2024 and dates will be finalized as soon as possible. Visit DCI.org to see the list of DCI events we will appear in this summer.

Can I audition for a drum major position?
Yes, drum major auditions will be held during the Utah January Audition on January 12th & 13th, 2024. Students should also complete an audition on their primary instrument to be considered for a spot in the drum corps if they are not selected as a drum major. You only need to pay one audition fee if also completing an audition on your primary instrument.
